The Wheels of speed was, like each year, held in Willingen, Germany.

The track was pretty much the same as the 2006 world cup but it was even faster. The level was worthy of a world cup with the Santa Cruz Syndicate, Yeti, Chain Reaction, Ms Evil Scott 11, etc. This year on the same track as last year it seems like the level was superior. Indeed a sequence of jumps existing last year were jumped for the first time. Gee Atherton was the first to try it and then about 20 riders did the same.

The qualifications on saturday were held under wet conditions and Gee Atherton won the scratch followed by Nick Beer and Aaron Gwin. For the team Fabien took the 14th place and Florent the 18th.

The sun was back on sunday for the race and the crowd too. On an almost dry track, the timings went down and Gwin was the fastest of the day.

Florent did very good and finished 10th.

Fabien’s run was too smooth and he finished 16th.

On monday morning the Team is leaving for Leogang to be in the best conditions for the world cup to come.

Comme chaque année à Willingen en Allemagne  avait lieu «  the wheels of speed ».

La piste reprend en partie le même  tracé que la coupe du monde de 2006 mais en plus rapide et plus engagé. Le niveau était digne d’une coupe du monde avec le team Santa Cruz Syndicate, Yeti, Chain Reaction, MS Evil Scott 11 etc….

Cette année sur une piste identique à celle de l’année dernière on aurait dit que le niveau avait pris un cran supplémentaire.

En effet un  énorme enchainement de sauts qui était déjà présent l’année dernière fut pour la première fois passé cette année. Gee Atherton ouvrit la voie  suivi par  une vingtaine de riders.

Samedi les qualifications sont trés humides et Gee Atherton remporte le scratch devant Nick Beer et Aaron Gwin. Pour le team, Fabien prend la 14eme place et Florent la 18eme.

Dimanche «  race day »  le soleil fait son retour et les spectateurs aussi!!! Sur une piste quasi sèche les chronos tombent les uns derrières les autres et à ce petit jeu c’est Aaron Gwin qui gagne.

Florent fait un très bon run ce qui lui permet d’accrocher un très beau top 10.

Fabien roule un peu trop propre mais prend quand même une belle 16eme place compte tenu du plateau.

Le team prend la direction de Leogang des lundi pour être dans les meilleures conditions possibles pour la coupe du monde à venir .
