MEGAVALANCHE REUNION 2010

The Megavalanche 2010 was starting very well. Fabien had just received the last Morewood enduro prototype equiped with the best parts for a very competitif bike.

The practice runs went very well and without any troubles. Saturday’s qualification went really well too and Couscous won his run for the first time in his career.

He was then placed at the front row for the start between 14 titles of world champion (Nicolas Vouilloz and Julien Absalon).

Couscous used his 4X experience at the start and did the holeshot. He was able to stay first for couple minutes.

He was taken over at the first up hill by some physically exeptional condition riders, Remy Absalon, Nicolas Vouilloz and Nino Schurteur. After that he did one part of the race fighting with Julien Absalon and Cedric Gracia. On very physical parts Julien Absalon made him come back to reality and showed that he isnt a double olympic champion for nothing. Fabien did the last part of the race with Cedric Gracia, he was able to pass him before the last single. From there the podium was very close, Fabien was 5th and there was only 5 minutes left ot the race. But his shox lost all his air. He tried to ride but the track was really rough and he had to walk to the finish.

This Megavalanche 2010 could have been by 5 minutes the perfect run with a podium.

For Florent, after a bad luck in qualification he had to start from the last row and made a good come back to the 21st place.

Tout commençait pour le mieux pour cette Mégavalanche 2010, Fabien venait de recevoir le dernier prototype Morewood d’enduro monter avec le meilleur matériel donc un vélo vraiment compétitif. Les reconnaissances se sont passées sans problème.

La qualification du samedi c’est vraiment très bien passé puisque Fabien remporte pour la première fois de sa carrière.

Pour la course, Fabien était très bien placé en 1ere ligne entre 14 titres de champion du monde (Nicolas Vouilloz et Julien Absalon).

Au moment du départ il fait parler son expérience en 4X pour faire le holeshot et donc partir en tête pour quelques minutes.

Dès la première montée il s’est fait doubler par des rideurs aux qualités physiques exceptionnelles comme Remy Absalon, Nicolas Vouilloz, Nino Schurteur. Après cela, il fait une partie de la course au coude a coude avec Julien Absalon et Cedric Gracia. Sur les parties très physiques Julien Absalon lui rappela qu’il est quand même double champion olympique. Fabien a donc fait la dernière partie de la course devant Cédric Gracia, qu’il réussit à passer à l’entrée du dernier single track où après les dépassements étaient quasiment impossible. A ce moment là il était 5ème et le podium était vraiment à porté de main et Fabien n’était qu’à 5minutes de l’arrivé mais, son amortisseur se vida d’un coup de tout son air. Il a quand même essayé de rouler sans air mais  la piste était vraiment trop cassante et Fabien était l’obligé de marcher jusqu’à la ligne d’arrivé.

Donc cette course de la Mégavalanche 2010 à 5 minutes près aurais pu être une course presque parfaite avec un podium à la clé sur l’une des Megavalanche avec l’un des plus beau plateau.

Pour Florent, après une qualification malchanceuse il est partie de la dernière ligne et à quand même réussit à remonter jusqu’à la 21eme place.
