AVALACHE CUP LYON/ JACKPOT FOR FABIEN (EN)

Freshly arrived from south africa and just enough time to do washing the team headed to the famous Avalanche cup of LYON which was on its 17th édition.

It was a nice sunny weekend in Lyon. From the qualifications we saw that it was going to be a tight , because the top three guys were just in 0.2 seconds of each other with Aurelien Giordanengo First Romain Saladini 2nd and our Fabien « CousCous » Cousinié 3rd.
Then Fabien realized that he had a good chance of winning, so for the race run he just put 100% and rode on the edge.

He crossed the line with the best time with more than 1.5 seconds a head of the next rider. Behind him was both the winners from 2008, and 2009 and they still had to ride. Saladini finished 0.6 second behind and Giordanengo only 0.1 behind…PHEWWW !!!

Now Fabien « couscous » cousinié listed his name with Nicolas vouilloz, Gee atherthon, steave peat, Fabien Barel as the winner of the 2011 edition.

Mick pascal on a track which doesn’t suit him, got his best career result hère with a strong 7th.

Tim will not keep the race high in his heart because he broke his chain in the final.

SHOW TIME, 4X TIME
The top 32 from the downhill will now battle on the same track but for 4X.

With the number 1 plate fabien won his 1/8 and 1/4 heats with ease.
The ½ final was very hard as fabien started 3rd and had to take over The 2nd rider. Now in second Fabien had to survive to the kamikazy attack from Quentin Derbier, Fabien’s legs still show a trace of this attack.

The final looked like i twas going to be a tight race with Romain Saladini, David Graft who finished 5th on the first 4X world cup, Aurelien Giordanengo and Fabien . In the race all the riders took the first position for a little while, but Fabien managed to work his way up from 3 rd to 1st.

Jackpot for CousCous this weekend who became the king of Lyon with his 2 new Morewood 4x bikes.

The month of may is going to be the month of the relase of the 2011 team video présentation and the start of french national séries.
