French cup #1

Ce fut une première coupe de France à la maison pour le team. Brassac est seulement à 15 minutes des locaux du team, c’est-à-dire la maison de Fabien Cousinié. C’est la première fois qu’une coupe de France se déroule à Brassac. Fabien, un habitué de la course régionale organisée depuis 10 ans, a déjà gagné quelque fois sur cette piste. La motivation était donc à son plein. Le soleil toujours présent depuis Lyon, ce weekend s’annonçait bien.

La première manche de samedi a su mettre le feu au team pour l’épreuve du lendemain. Fabien , Mick et Tim font respectivement 4,5, et 6.

Dimanche le temps était couvert et c’est sur une piste qui s’était creusée et qui était glissante que le team s’est lancé. Les chronos étaient très serrés sur cette piste plutôt courte. Pour sa première coupe de France Tim fait une très bonne performance et termine 7ème. Fabien améliore son temps mais n’arrive pas à atteindre celui de Thibault Ruffin, il termine donc 6ème. Pour Mick, vainqueur de la coupe de France en 2010, il fait un 4ème temps et monte sur le podium.

C’est avec ces trois belles performances que le team a droit à la deuxième marche du podium pour le classement par équipe.

Le team est donc content de ce week-end avec 2 riders sur le podium provisoire du général de la coupe de France. Mick est donc 2ème au classement général, Fabien 3ème et Tim 6ème. La saison ne fait que commencer et déjà nos riders se font remarquer. Tout le monde est alors plus que motivé pour la coupe du monde #2 à Fort William qui arrive à grand pas.

This past weekend was the first French Cup of the season. Brassac is only a fifteen minutes drive from the team’s headquarters. It was the first time a French Cup was held there. Fabien was already used to the track since there has been a regional race there for the past 10 years. The guys were pumped and their motivation was high. The sun was still shinning since Lyon, the weekend was then starting on a good note.

The first round on Saturday put the team on fire for the second round the next day. Fabien, Mick and Tim did 4, 5 and 6 respectivly.

The clouds and fog were back on Sunday. The ruts got deeper and the track was now sleepery. A Couple lines had to be changed since 400 riders had practiced on the track. The times were very close. It was Tim’s first French cup and he did very well with a 7^th place. Fabien improved his time but not enough compare to Thibault Ruffin, he then took the 6^th place. Mick, who was last year winner of the french cups, came on the podium with a 4^th place.

With these three nice results, Morewood UnitedRide did second in the team rankings with only 3 riders.

It’s a very good weekend with a second place for Mick at the overall ranking, a 3^rd place for Fabien and a 6^th place for Tim. Everyone is pumped for the rest of the season especially for the next Worl Cup in Fort William.
